Try these recipes to exfoliate your skin, get rid of dead skin cells, and reveal a fresh new you!

    1. KITCHEN PANTRY BODY SCRUB

No need to head to the store for those pricey exfoliants and body scrubs – head to your pantry instead!

    Ingredients:

    •  1/4 cup coffee grounds

    •  1/8 cup light olive oil

    •  1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

    •  1/2 tsp. raw cane sugar

    Preparation:

Mix all ingredients with a fork. During your shower, apply the scrub all over your body in a circular, massaging motion. Work the mixture deeply into your rough areas like elbows and heels. When finished, cleanse as usual.

Note: Because this mixture contains oil and should be applied during a shower, your floor could become very slippery. Be sure to use a mat to prevent slipping.

    2. SUGARY YOGURT SCRUB

This recipe is versatile- if you don’t want to use sugar, you can replace it with ground cornmeal, rice powder, or even oatmeal for sensitive skin types. The results will be the same – skin that has been exfoliated and moisturized in one application.

    Ingredients:

    •  2 tbsp whole milk yogurt

    •  1 tbsp raw cane or turbinado sugar

    Preparation:

Mix ingredients to form a paste. Gently rub into skin in a circular motion, starting from the neck or chin and working upwards towards the forehead but not around the eyes.

Continue this for several minutes before rinsing with cool water.

    Follow with a homemade toner.

    3. CHOCOLATE FACE MASK

What a delight chocolate is for our taste buds, but few realize that it also nourishes, moisturizes, and sloughs off dead skin. After applying this mixture, you’ll be amazed at how your skin glows!

    Ingredients:

    •  1/3 cup cocoa

    •  1/4 cup of honey

    •  2 egg yolks

    • 3 teaspoons oatmeal (optional)

    Preparation:

Mix all ingredients well. Apply on the face, gently massaging so that oatmeal can start exfoliating the dead skin cell layer. Leave it on for about 20 minutes and rinse off with lukewarm water.
