In this episode of The Muslimi Experience Podcast, host Boonaa Mohammed speaks with Razia Hamidi about the central role of du’a in a Muslim’s life. Razia explains that du’a reflects full reliance on Allah ﷻ. It is not only a form of worship but also a believer’s lifeline. She reminds listeners that Allah always responds to du’a by granting it immediately, delaying it for the right time, or replacing it with something better. With this certainty, a believer never loses when turning to Allah.

Razia also shares her personal story. Born to Afghan refugee parents in India and raised in Canada, she grew up surrounded by resilience and struggle. These experiences taught her patience and the habit of constant du’a. Even her name, inspired by Razia Sultan, motivated her to live with strength and purpose in a society where her Muslim identity was often challenged.

    Lessons from Razia’s Journey

The conversation highlights how small moments shaped her faith. She recalls how Zain Bhikha’s nasheed I Give Thanks inspired her as a teenager. It reminded her of gratitude and brought her closer to Allah. Experiences like these showed her that du’a is not just about asking, but about shaping life with hope and trust.

Razia encourages Muslims to raise their expectations when making du’a. She explains that believers should never limit what they ask for because Allah’s mercy and generosity are boundless. For her, du’a is an act of trust that changes both the heart and daily life.

This episode of The Muslimi Experience Podcast reminds Muslims that du’a is more than a spiritual practice. It is a mindset of hope, patience, and certainty that connects believers to Allah in every moment.
