In a sharp escalation, Israel carried out four airstrikes on Sana’a International Airport, directly targeting its facilities and destroying a Yemenia Airways plane. According to flight data, the aircraft was a civilian flight preparing to transport Hajj pilgrims—marking it as the last operational plane at the site following earlier attacks.
The strike occurred one day after the Yemeni Armed Forces launched airstrikes on Ben Gurion Airport and a strategic site east of occupied Tel Aviv.
Although Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz labeled the airport strikes as targeting “terror infrastructure,” airport director Khaled al-Shaif condemned the move as a direct attack on a humanitarian lifeline.
Sana’a Airport had just resumed limited services last week following months of inactivity and recent runway repairs due to earlier Israeli assaults.
